A traditional Center Hall Cottage in Thibodeaux, LA, the Borne House allowed our team to restore some of the oldest Greek Revival windows in the Bayou Country region of South Louisiana. Built in 1859 and later added onto in the 1920s, this house displays the marvelous architectural timeline of the area. A challenge that SWR faced with this unique project was the lack of balance systems within the window units (typical from this time period and house type). Spiral balance systems were utilized as they were the least invasive option and preserved the jambs original form and function. The windows were restored and weatherstripped for further preservation and efficiency.
