Sam began work in the construction industry at a young age under the tutelage of senior craftsmen. He studied architectural drafting at the National Urban Skill Center and attended Louisiana State University School of Architecture. In the mid eighties and with two employees, Sam started Sam Staub Carpentry. The business flourished through the 1990s with projects consisting of commercial and residential construction and renovations, with a focus on the historic built environment. The business became incorporated in 2004, as Sam Staub Enterprises, INC.
While restoring a home for himself in the historic New Orleans Irish Channel, Sam noticed a need for skilled restoration of the historic windows in homes around the city. In 2011, Sam added the Window Restoration and Weatherization Division to SSE in the hopes of transitioning the company to a much greater emphasis on historic preservation and restoration in the coming years. The growth of the Window Division was tremendous and, in 2013, it expanded into its own company – Staub Window Restorations, LLC.
